ST. MARY’S RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM
We, at Saint Mary’s Parish are committed to assist you in the religious formation of your child, but please know that parish faith formation programs are a support and not a substitute for family prayer, faith discussions, and worship.
The best gift that we can give to our children is the knowledge that the God who created them loves them unconditionally every moment of every day! There will be dark moments in their lives, they will be let down by others, even by us sometimes — yet God is always there for them — ALWAYS!
We come to know God by talking to God or by ‘praying.’ Please use the Prayers to Know by Heart pamphlet with your child. By learning these prayers in childhood, we carry them in our hearts and on our lips for the rest of our lives! When we know our prayers by heart, it is easier then to pray with our whole heart. Our Church has given us beautiful prayers, please use these with your child, as well as praying in your own words too!
Let us help our children to measure success and happiness not by what’s in their bank accounts or in their toy boxes, but rather by how they can change the whole world for someone by one little act of kindness!
Religious Education Registration will take place on Sunday, September 12,2010 after the 9:00am and 11:00am Masses in the Cafeteria.
Classes begin Sunday September 26th.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAMS
GRADES K-6
Classes meet on Sunday mornings after the 9:00 am mass from September-May. Classes are held in Saint Mary’s High School building.

GRADES 7-8-9
Classes meet once a month and are ungraded. These students discover more about their faith by attending field trips, hosting guest speakers and participating in day long programs and prayer experiences.

CONFIRMATION PROGRAM
This program is designed to prepare students in tenth grade (or above) for the Sacrament of Confirmation. A series of meetings and activities help students reflect upon their own personal faith and relationship with God and deepen that faith through prayer, service and the building of relationships with other Catholics. Confirmation preparation begins in October and ends with the celebration of the sacrament (usually in April).
