Lynn Catholic Collaborative of St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart
is a Collaborative of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston.
All people are welcome at Saint Mary’s
and Sacred Heart in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Regardless of your status in the Church, regardless of your marital state, regardless of your prior religious experience, regardless of your personal history, background, or sexual orientation, please know that you are invited, accepted and respected at our Lynn Catholic Collaborative!
We are building an integrated website for our Lynn Catholic Collaborative. Until then, please stay on this website for Lynn St. Mary’s Parish information and visit Lynn Sacred Heart at www.sacredheart01905.com. Thank you!
All the parishes and chapels of the Archdiocese of Boston will be open for individual confession. The Archdiocese has set up a website, www.TheLightIsOnForYou.org, to help you prepare. It has Videos on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, sheets on how to make a good confession, answers to frequently-asked questions and more. Please make plans to come on Lenten Wednesdays and spread the word of this special outreach of mercy to those you know. Below is our schedule:
Each Wednesday of Lent
6:30pm – 8:00pm Sacred Heart Reconciliation Room Lower Church
Each Saturday of Lent
2:45pm – 3:30pm St. Mary’s Church

Please bring a copy of your bible and a pen. There is no charge for this program. We hope to see many of you there as we journey towards Easter.
2014 Boston Catholic Appeal
In Parishes across the Archdiocese of Boston, parishioners are asked to pledge support to the 2014 Catholic Appeal, Forward in Hope. Ministries supported by the Appeal include the Office of Religious Education, which provides oversight and assistance to our Religious Education program, and Parish Services, which provides assistance with critical business needs from processing payroll and benefits for lay parish staff to helping our parish maintain the buildings we operate. Please prayerfully consider how you will support the 2014 Catholic Appeal. Making a pledge, which can be paid in up installments through January 31, 2015, is a powerful way to maximize your contribution. For more information on the 2014 Catholic Appeal or to pledge online, please visit BostonCatholicAppeal.org. Thank you for your prayers and support as we all help further Cardinal Seán’s mission as we move forward in hope.
You’re invited to participate in CRS Rice Bowl! Our parish will be participating in CRS Rice Bowl, Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten program, as a way to encounter Jesus through others, especially through the most vulnerable in our world. Rice Bowls will be available on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Lynn Catholic Collaborative (both St. Mary and Sacred Heart Parishes). Please be sure to take home a Rice Bowl and use this fun and easy resource to deepen your family’s Lenten experience and make a difference in the lives of the poor.

Stewards of our Parishes
We recently spoke about Stewardship in our parish in relation to the Increase Giving Campaign. But Stewardship is more than just our treasure and helping with the financial operation of our parish. It is also about taking ownership and taking care of our parish by sharing our time and talent. It is another way of giving back to God what God has shared with us. With the of becoming true stewards in mind please consider volunteering to assist in one or more of the following areas.
Vestment and Linen Cleaning – We need additional help in cleaning our altar linens and vestments. Again we have a very dedicated group who help us in this area but your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Decorating – The help here is needed especially during the Christmas and Easter seasons.
Monitoring Bulletin Boards and Literature Racks – Volunteers would help to keep updated all bulletin board materials and keep literature on racks and tables in a neat and orderly fashion.
Greeters and Information Help – We can always use more greeters at our celebrations and soon hope to have trained greeters help visitors and newcomers to our parish in meeting their needs.
Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors – Not all are called to this ministry but if you have ever had an interest in learning more about this role in the celebration of the Mass you are encouraged to reach out to one of the priests.
On Call Office Help – This wonderful group of people are willing to assist in mailings and other out of the ordinary office tasks that arise from time to time.
Altar Servers – Youngsters are encouraged to share their gifts at the altar of the Lord by serving at the Sunday Eucharist. This ministry can help a young man or woman to strengthen their faith as they become a part of a great group of young men and women who already serve in this way.
Adult Altar Servers – Adults are encouraged to serve in this role to assist the priests at funerals during the week.
Kitchen Help for Bingo – Bingo helps our parish financially and we need your help. The kitchen is very active on Saturday nights and we have a great group of workers there. We do need additional workers however as people sometimes need to take a night off or simply wish to have a break every now and then.
For those who already fill any of these roles we are very grateful and are blessed to have you as stewards in our parishes. For those who may be interested in learning more about these opportunities please speak to one of the priests or contact the Collaborative Office at 781-598-4907, email@example.com.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
Please do not forget to place your offering in the boxes in the Church and Chapel. Your support goes a long way in our efforts to assist those most in need in our community. We also extend a word of sincere thanks to the men and women who comprise the St. Vincent de Paul Society here at St. Mary’s Parish.
We truly appreciate all your efforts on behalf of those in need.
Bingo is a fun and inexpensive night out! Bingo is held on Tuesday and Saturday evenings in St. Mary’s Cafeteria. Game begins Tuesdays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 6:00pm.
Approximately 65% of the money collected at St. Mary’s Bingo returns back to players as prizes! The remainder helps support our parish and school! Come join us!
