Grand Annual Collection at St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart
As you may know, this is this time of the year that parishes throughout the Archdiocese initiate their Grand Annual Collection. Although St. Mary’s Church did not have a Grand Annual Collection last year and Sacred Heart Church has not had one in several years, in keeping with Archdiocesan guidelines, we believe that it is vital to our Collaborative to reinstate it.
Sacred Heart Please Note: This Collection is in lieu of Fall and Spring Collections. Thank you!
The Grand Annual Collection is very important to our Collaborative as your donations are used to support the many programs and services offered at both St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart. This week, you will receive a Grand Annual Collection packet in the mail.
We kindly ask that you consider donating whatever you feel is appropriate for you. No donation is ever too small.
Please know that donations made to St. Mary’s Church will
remain at St. Mary’s and donations made to Sacred Heart
Church will remain at Sacred Heart.
Thank you for your most generous contributions.
All parishioners are welcome to register with our online giving option, ParishPay. There are several advantages to ParishPay registration. For example, you can review your donation history, save your personal and payment information and set up recurring (weekly, monthly or annual) donations. Parishioners have the flexibility to make one-time and recurring offertory gifts, donate to special collections (like our current Grand Annual Collection), or contribute to capital campaigns and appeals; all from one convenient, easy-to-use donor platform. For FAQs and to register for ParishPay, please visit ParishPay at https://www.parishpay.com/

“Responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is a moral obligation.”
– Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship
By our baptism, Catholics are committed to following Jesus Christ and to be “salt for the earth, light for the nations.” As the Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us, “It is necessary that all participate, according to his position and role, in promoting the common good. This is inherent in the dignity of the human person … As far as possible citizens should take an active part in public life” (nos. 1913-1915).

It is that time of year! We ask all Collaborative volunteers, new and returning, to fill out a CORI. We appreciate the cooperation of all those required to complete the annual CORI and we particularly thank you for keeping the pledge to protect those among us who are most vulnerable. To fill out a CORI, please stop by the Collaborative Office Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 3:00pm, or Sacred Heart Office on Thursdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Please call the Office if you have questions or need help filling out a CORI Form.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Do you know any adults who may be thinking about becoming a Catholic or completing their sacraments? Lynn Catholic Collaborative offers a welcoming, gentle and prayer-filled path to a (deeper) relationship with Jesus and to full-fledged membership in the Catholic Church. So that they can find out more about this process (which is known as the RCIA), please urge them to speak to one of our pastoral staff or to call the Collaborative Office at 781-598-4907 or Admin@LynnCatholic.org. Although the RCIA is an on-going process, we will be meeting formally later in the fall. Now is a good time for you to let us know of possible candidates for RCIA.
The Saints and You
Would you like to talk about the Saints’ stories and their relevance to your own personal journey? Do you realize the great gift you are given in the Saints? We are, the Letter to the Hebrews tells us, surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses
(see Heb. 12:1).
The Followers of our Saints’ Lives would like you to join their group on Wednesday evenings in the St. Pius V Pastoral Center, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, to meet these living friends who are concerned about us, friends with whom we can form relationships, friends we will meet in eternal life,
and friends who yearn to help us.
